If you’re brand new to Office 365, you might be wondering what it is and how it works. Or maybe you’re wondering what to do after you’ve signed up, signed in, and installed Office on your devices. Whatever the case, we’re here to help! Use this article to learn your way around Office 365.
What is Office 365?
In a nutshell, Office 365 is a collection of apps and cloud services that you can use to be productive across a variety of devices from just about anywhere. Several different subscriptions are available to suit different needs. For example, some subscriptions are for business use, and others for home use. Most include the latest release of Office that you can install on your Windows and Mac computers and a variety of mobile devices. All plans include online versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

How do I get around in Office 365?
One good way to navigate around in Office 365 is by using the app launcher.
- Sign in to Office 365. (If you need help with this, see Where to sign in to Office 365)
- Click (or tap) the app launcher in the upper-left corner of your browser window, and then choose a tile.The tiles you see in your app launcher depend on your Office 365 subscription. For more details, see Meet the Office 365 app launcher.

How do I get Office apps?

After you’ve installed Office, you’ll want to make sure you know where your apps are so you can open them quickly and easily.

Windows computer | See Can’t find Office applications in Windows 10, Windows 8, or Windows 7? |
Mac computer | If you’re using Office 2016 for Mac, see Add the Office for Mac app icons to the Dock.
